Who is not a candidate for Mofeta?

Mofeta is not suitable for anyone who has been diagnosed with any form of cancer.

How Does Mofeta Work?

The Mofeta springs lie beneath the city of Covasna. Over hundreds of years, locals have developed the most effective methods of benefitting from the healing properties of this naturally occuring gas.

Guests enter the Mofeta room fully clothed and remove their shoes. The room looks like a pine sauna built as an amphitheater.  The Mofeta penetrates the skin and acts as a vasodilator, it causes the blood vessels in the body to expand improving blood flow throughout the body.  This is why Mofeta can help for such a wide variety of ailments. Some guests experience a warm, tingling sensation in their hands and legs.

Guests also visit the relaxing Mofeta baths, where they privately bathe in water combined with Mofeta jets that tingle and soothe while the Mofeta is further absorbed by the body. Our guests receive Mofeta treatments twice daily for 10 days.

What are Some Other Conditions that Benefit from Mofeta?

What is in the Mofeta Gas?

Mofeta gas is a unique combination of volcanic gases originating deep under the Carpathian Mountains. The gas is very rich in carbon dioxide (95-98%) and also contains ammonia, sulfur, helium and radon in small doses, which increase the penetration and effectiveness of the carbon dioxide.

Does Mofeta Really Work?

We have been bringing groups to Covasna for three years.  The overwhelming majority of participants experience significant relief which lasts between 6 and 18 months. Most of our guests return to experience the healing wonders of Mofeta on a regular basis.  The amazing experiences of some of our guests can be found on the Guest Experience and Media tabs on the Hebrew version of our website. Mofeta doesn't always work for everyone though and the results vary from person to person.

Physicians across the region send their patients to the Mofeta before trying more invasive treatments. A study conducted with 1000 participants with hypertension determined that after 12-15 Mofeta treatments between 5 and 20 minutes in length, their blood pressure dropped significantly.   The average blood pressure was lowered from 174/103 mmgh to 148/85.

For many years, writers and painters visited Covasna to experience the Mofeta, which they felt boosted their inspiration.

Do Guests Need Medical Clearance?

Anyone who wants to receive Mofeta treatments must receive clearance from the on-site physician.  We recommend that guests visit their own physicians prior to seeking Mofeta treatments and that they bring along the most recent copies of their relevant medical records.

How Long do Guests Stay?

Our guests receive Mofeta twice a day for a maximum of 20 minutes each treatment. In order for Mofeta to be most effective at least 10 consecutive days of treatment are required.  Our group receives Mofeta at the highest concentration available in the Covasna.
